Meet Our Administrative Team
Our exceptional administrative team is the backbone of our organization. They keep us on top of our game, using their skills, dedication and enthusiasm to make Companion Animal Hospitals the best they can be. Like our partners, they share a lifelong passion for animals and are also devoted pet owners!
Wendy, CVPM, CVT - Practice Administrator
Wendy graduated from Parkland College in 1994 as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She spent a year working as a technician in the equine field, then several years with small animals before moving into veterinary hospital management. In 2001, she became Hospital Manager at Wolf Merrick Animal Hospital for Dr. Scott Petereit. In 2017, she became a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager.
In 2016, Wendy became Practice Administrator for the Companion Animal Hospital group in the Chicagoland area. She has the difficult task of keeping Drs. Petereit, Markwalder and Whalen grounded when their heads are in the clouds! She also works closely with the ownership, management and admin teams at each location as a resource, sharing her experience and mentorship in the administration of the hospitals. Wendy is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association, Chicagoland Veterinary Managers Group and the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association.
Wendy married her high school sweetheart, Scott, with whom she has four kids; two boys and two girls, who keep her pretty busy. She has an Australian Shepherd named Carly and a guinea pig named Gabby. She loves camping and traveling with her family, archery, and Jazzercise.
Morgan - Marketing Manager
Morgan joined the Companion Animal Hospital group in the summer of 2017, after moving to Chicago to pursue her career. She graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, IA in May 2016 with a degree in Public Relations and Management. While the veterinary field is new for her, she has had a lifelong passion for pets. She grew up on a farm in Stockton, IL, a small town of 1,800 people, and has been around animals her whole life.
Morgan currently lives near Wrigley Field with her cat Max, and loves to cheer on the Cubbies! She has a soft spot for Golden Retrievers, and misses her family dog, Mojo, every day. When she’s not finding cute animal videos to share with you on Facebook or working on the latest design material, she enjoys getting to know the city, cheering on the Cubs or Packers (she knows—weird combo), or binge-watching her latest Netflix show.
